Before Viktor, there was Hektor — a relatively simple spray-can output device driven by two motors. Both are fusions of digital and mechanical technology, collages of tools invented for other purposes. Jurg Lehni and Alex Rich exchanged emails about the various devices, systems, and technologies that resonate with these machines, building the archive A Recent History of Writing & Drawing. This book collects the drawings Viktor and invited guests produced together every Thursday evening during the exhibition at the ICA London, curated by Emily King.
