This book traces MoMA's long tradition of pairing plants with art. Through 340 photographs and drawings, it celebrates works placed alongside greenery, asking what it means to set live plants beside paintings by Rothko, Matisse, and others, and what that says about the relationship between culture and nature. The project continues research that Meijer began in 2019 at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
