『Tennis Courts Ⅲ』는 서로 다른 계절과 장소 속 비어 있고 방치된 테니스 코트들을 마치 하나의 긴 시퀀스 숏처럼 연이어 담아냅니다. 사진은 시간이 흐르는 피할 수 없는 과정 자체보다는, 그 흐름 속에서 일어나는 망각을 조명합니다. 피사체의 반복은 장소 자체를 변형하지 않으면서도 대상을 또 다른 무언가로 전환시킵니다.

지아스코 베르톨리는 2000년부터 파리를 기반으로 활동해 온 사진가이자 영화감독입니다. 1990년대부터 스포츠, 영화, 청춘, 음악, 섹슈얼리티, 노스탤지어, 유머, 역사를 주요 주제로 다루어 왔습니다. 다수의 사진집을 출판했으며, 다양한 국제 간행물에 정기적으로 기고하고 있습니다.

Tennis Courts Ⅲ continues the subject of empty, abandoned courts, one after another like a long sequence shot through different seasons and different places. The photographs don’t show so much the inevitable passing of time but the forgetfulness that occurs in time's passing. The repetition of the subject transforms one thing into other things without really transforming the places themselves. I kept shooting, preferring the light at the end of the day, especially when there was a full moon and more light, and shooting until it got dark. The last photo in this third book is a daytime photo shot from a distance, a tennis court in the middle of beautiful palm trees, a sort of escape to paradise. Giasco Bertoli
