마르텐 반 세베렌 재단과 헨트 예술대학교 KASK가 마르텐 반 세베렌의 작업이 오늘날의 디자이너들에게 지니는 의미를 전하기 위해 마련한 체어 강의 및 마스터클래스 시리즈의 두 번째 호입니다. 2016년 12월, 스위스 디자이너 알프레도 하벨리 Alfredo Häberli는 두 차례 강연을 열고, 같은 주에 다섯 개 예술학교에서 온 학생 10명과 함께 3일간의 마스터클래스를 진행했습니다. 마스터클래스가 끝난 뒤에도 참가 학생들은 자신들의 작업 과정을 MVSC 블로그에 계속 올렸고, 그 결과물을 디자인뮤지엄 겐트의 두 번째 MVSC 카이에 Cahier로 선보입니다. 이 책에는 하벨리의 강연 녹취록과 학생들의 진행 과정을 담은 마스터클래스의 시각적 기록이 함께 실려 있습니다.

The second issue in the Chair Lectures and Masterclasses series, established by the Maarten Van Severen Foundation and KASK School of Arts Ghent to bring the relevance of Maarten Van Severen’s work to today’s designers. In December 2016, Swiss designer Alfredo Häberli gave two lectures and led a three-day masterclass with ten students from five art schools. The students kept posting their process on the MVSC blog afterward, and the results are now presented as the second MVSC Cahier at Design museum Gent, featuring a transcript of Häberli's lecture alongside a visual record of the masterclass.
