This book centers on LAILA UTI, a clothing shop that caught Danish artist Mette Winckelmann's eye after she moved from central Copenhagen to a neighborhood near Nørrebros Runddel. Once called LAILA BUTIK, the sign had lost letters one by one over the years, its identity shifting as they disappeared — a transformation echoed in how the book itself was made. It was published on the occasion of exhibitions held at Viborg Kunsthal and Augustiana in Denmark in 2019–2020.
