How to Build an Apple Pie examines the community spaces of Danish social housing and what they need in order to actually work. Starting from problems of poor layout, low visibility, and a lack of resident agency, it draws on fieldwork, interviews, essays, and analysis to propose a reciprocal design methodology that begins with people rather than floor plans. Published by Danish Architectural Press with support from Arkitektskolen Aarhus and Ny Carlsbergfondet, it was co-written by Anne Corlin, Aislinn McCarthy, and Evelyn Ågren, and designed by Lea Vornholt.
