This book documents 59 Positions, a twenty-minute performance video shot with a fixed camera in an empty concrete room in 1992. Erwin Wurm and his friends twist their bodies into absurd poses inside shirts, sweaters, and trousers, disregarding the clothes' ordinary function. Made to explore whether — and at what point — a physical act becomes sculpture, the project led to a related series of color photographs, and this book is the second volume in Erwin Wurm's artist book series published by RVB Books.
