A bestiary is an ancient form of manuscript weaving together tales of real and imagined creatures, stones, and trees, treating the world less as something to be described naturalistically than as a mirror of divine truth. In Bestiary, Anne Geene and Arjan de Nooy take inspiration from the ancient Greek text Physiologus to build a contemporary photographic bestiary, mixing found images with their own photographs to bring this mysterious text back to life, without a Christian or moralizing lens.
