Commissioned by Belmond, Colin Dodgson made this photobook of the Andean Explorer, crossing the Peruvian Andes aboard the luxury train that links Cusco and Arequipa. Passing landmarks like Lake Titicaca, Colca Canyon, and La Raya Market, he captures the mood of the journey, from sweeping landscapes to everyday details. Drawing inspiration from painting, he is equally drawn to vast scenery and ordinary objects — knobby potatoes grown at 4,200 meters, stones, plastic bottles, and odd finds from markets along the railway.
