This book takes an in-depth look at the work of Japanese-Swiss painter Teruko Yokoi (1924–2020). Tracing her path from her upbringing in Tsushima through Tokyo, the San Francisco Art Institute, and New York — where she worked with Hans Hofmann — to her move to Bern in 1962, it examines the influence of Abstract Expressionism and the abstract vocabulary she made her own.
