토비아스 무드 Tobias Mud와 후와 다이치 Daichi Fuwa의 책 『목덜미 Nape』는 미술대학 시절 ‘목덜미’라는 특정 부위에 공통의 관심사를 가진 두 아티스트의 리서치에서 출발한 책으로, 두 아티스트는 각자의 기억과 사유, 수집한 이미지와 직접 찍은 사진을 모아 목덜미가 지닌 미학적, 감각적 특징을 기록했습니다. 개인적인 집착과 호기심을 아카이빙 형태로 정돈한 이 작업은 무심코 지나치기 쉬운 신체 부위를 다각도로 관찰한 과정을 보여줍니다. 글쓰기와 사진을 매개로 부재와 공허를 다뤄온 토비아스 무드와 유리의 투명함과 연약함을 통해 신체적 지각의 경계를 탐구하는 후와 다이치의 시선이 책 속에서 자연스럽게 교차하며, 사소한 지점을 향한 두 사람의 담담한 기록은 우리의 신체를 바라보는 새로운 관점을 제안합니다. 책은 영어와 일본어로 쓰였으며, 한글 별책이 포함되어 있습니다. 쥬스프레스 Juice Press에서 출간했고 오렌지 슬라이스 타입 Orange Slice Type에서 디자인했습니다.

Tobias Mud and Daichi Fuwa's Nape began as a shared research interest, discovered during their art school years, in one particular part of the body: the nape of the neck. Drawing on their own memories and reflections along with collected and original photographs, the two artists documented the aesthetic and sensory qualities of the nape, organizing a personal fascination and curiosity into something like an archive, and showing an easily overlooked part of the body observed from many angles. Tobias Mud, who works with writing and photography to address absence and emptiness, and Daichi Fuwa, who explores the boundaries of bodily perception through the transparency and fragility of glass, meet naturally within the book; their quiet record of small details offers a new way of looking at our own bodies. The book is written in English and Japanese, with an included Korean booklet. Published by Juice Press and designed by Orange Slice Type.
