『MAP-MODEL-MAP』은 2014년 『PBT(Photoshop Brush Text)』와 함께 발매된 책으로, 구글 맵과 어스, 빙 지도 같은 디지털 지도 애플리케이션이 도시와 건축을 관찰하는 방식을 어떻게 근본적으로 바꾸었는지 탐구합니다. 초타원형이 만든 책 중 가장 작은 판형으로, 디자이너 안종민은 작은 프레임 안에서 이미지들을 온전히 보여주기 위해 누드 제본을 적용했습니다. 디지털 몽타주와 직교 투영으로 구현된 안티 퍼스펙티브를 통해 현실과 추상의 경계를 오가는 위성 지도를 조망하며, 손안에 들어오는 작은 지면 위에 현대 건축가가 마주하는 거대한 가상 객체로서의 도시 패브릭과 복잡한 텍토닉 정보를 압축해 전달합니다.

Released in 2014 alongside PBT (Photoshop Brush Text), MAP-MODEL-MAP explores how digital mapping applications—such as Google Maps, Google Earth, and Microsoft Bing Maps—have fundamentally transformed our perception and observation of cities and architecture. As the smallest book published by Superellipse, designer Jongmin Ahn implemented an exposed-spine (nude) binding to maximize the display of images within its miniature frame. By examining the abstract, anti-perspective qualities of satellite imagery constructed through digital montage and orthographic projection, the palm-sized volume encapsulates the complex tectonics and large-scale urban fabrics that contemporary architects engage with as new virtual entities.
