In Memory Of..., by Taiwanese artist John Yuyi, explores the body as a screen for the social media age. The book documents a nose job Yuyi got during the pandemic — and the regret that followed just two weeks later. In tribute to the ear cartilage that was briefly grafted onto her nose for the surgery before being returned to its place, she took her nose on a solo date to an amusement park the day before the cartilage went back, and photographed the whole thing. Recovery selfies full of bandages and bruises intercut with the amusement park photos capture the body, beauty standards, impulse, and regret with humor and honesty. This is the fifth issue of the Monogram series published by Art Paper Editions.
