For him, a brushstroke is a unit and a trajectory rather than a trace of emotion, and the canvas and frame serve as formal elements rather than protection. Six contributors, among them a critic, an architect, a food and art columnist, and a frame maker, read his paintings from different positions, and the artist’s own essay closes the book. This slow, seemingly stubborn attitude reads as radical today, when everything is consumed so quickly.
