The ANARCHIVE series brings together 103 posters that Béla Pablo Janssen collected between 2013 and 2023. BPJ paints over the text on each poster in spray paint — matching its original lettering color, or in white or black — leaving 'clouds' or 'bars' where the information used to be read. Stripped of their original exhibition context and presented as purely visual, aesthetic residue, these works propose a new framework for the archive, one that crosses the traditional idea of organizing and accumulating records with a political condition of lawlessness and absent authority.
